Keeping up with network traffic and data storage needs can also be a challenge. Companies that are expanding geographically have the daunting task of upgrading to a multi-site or even multi-regional infrastructure. In all these circumstances, cloud migration offers significantly better options than in-house alternatives. With the cloud being both affordable and scalable it enables your organization to grow with less hassle.  ## **The cloud is more affordable** From a purely budgetary standpoint, migrating to the cloud makes all the sense in the world. Cloud computing offers savings in hardware, software, data storage, backup and recovery, disaster relief services and staffing, just to name a few. Not only will cloud-based solutions save money, in most cases, but they also increase your overall IT effectiveness. Cloud options require less maintenance and monitoring (if managed by a cloud service provider, they can provide monitoring & maintenance for you) and very well may be faster, more reliable and more secure than your current systems. Cloud computing as a service allows your organization to move from a CAPEX to OPEX model, this ensures your organization will have monthly predictable billing rather than hefty unpredictable costs. The affordability of the cloud allows your organization to invest in solutions that will help your business scale and meet the needs of your customers.  ## **The cloud is more scalable** The benefits of cloud scalability are twofold. Cloud **Software as a Service (SaaS)**, **Platform as a Service (Paas)** and **Infrastructure as a Services (IaaS)** allows you to upgrade virtually everything you need to run your network easily and quickly. This allows you to upgrade to more resources as you need them but also ensures that you aren’t paying for resources that you do not need, in the event that your company’s growth is slower than originally projected. When it comes time to upgrade the systems that run your infrastructure, odds are there is a cloud setup that is right for your business. Public cloud, private cloud and hybrid cloud types open cloud-based solutions up to every industry no matter what compliance, regulations and security standards need to be met. Cloud migration can not only make your next upgrade simpler, faster and more cost-effective, it positions your resources so that future upgrades will be too. ### Posts by Topic - [Data Security 12](https://blog.athenacloud.io/blog/tag/data-security) - [Cloud Computing 9](https://blog.athenacloud.io/blog/tag/cloud-computing) - [Cloud Security 8](https://blog.athenacloud.io/blog/tag/cloud-security) - [Cloud Solutions for Legal Firms 8](https://blog.athenacloud.io/blog/tag/cloud-solutions-for-legal-firms) - [Cyber Security 8](https://blog.athenacloud.io/blog/tag/cyber-security) - [Security 6](https://blog.athenacloud.io/blog/tag/security) - [Choosing A Cloud Services Providers 5](https://blog.athenacloud.io/blog/tag/choosing-a-cloud-services-providers) - [Disaster Recovery 5](https://blog.athenacloud.io/blog/tag/disaster-recovery) - [IT Systems & Services 5](https://blog.athenacloud.io/blog/tag/it-systems-services) - [Business Continuity 4](https://blog.athenacloud.io/blog/tag/business-continuity) - [Data Backup 0](https://blog.athenacloud.io/blog/tag/data-backup) - [Cloud Computing for Financial Institutions 0](https://blog.athenacloud.io/blog/tag/cloud-computing-for-financial-institutions) - [Managed Cloud Services 0](https://blog.athenacloud.io/blog/tag/managed-cloud-services) - [Business Agility 0](https://blog.athenacloud.io/blog/tag/business-agility) - [Cloud Services 0](https://blog.athenacloud.io/blog/tag/cloud-services) - [Small Business 0](https://blog.athenacloud.io/blog/tag/small-business) - [COVID-19 0](https://blog.athenacloud.io/blog/tag/covid-19) - [Cloud Computing for CEOs 0](https://blog.athenacloud.io/blog/tag/cloud-computing-for-ceos) - [Hybrid Cloud Computing 0](https://blog.athenacloud.io/blog/tag/hybrid-cloud-computing) Show more #### Sign up for our newsletter and get great content delivered straight to your inbox.
